about

And we continue the Dump series backwards. Don't worry, we're going forwards as well.. But this one if for August 2022. Seems quite a few tracks from that month is already published, so I'm not including them here. It's only the remaining stuff that isn't released. It was a pretty uneventful month, so I don't remember a lot what happened as I write this in January 2023. But it was the 2nd last time I released a Jams album.

Looking back at the My Works folder from August, I can see that the track Scream The Blues was done that month. It was certainly out of frustration and anxiety and that was one big reason I ended the Jams series. But another good thing was that I was re-focusing on Youtube that month. The Randomness challenge track for the Magpie Pirates (Grumo Is Gonna Name This Track) & the song for the Ben-Hugo Song Challenge (I Wriote A Nepali Song After 15 Years) were also done this month, including the videos. But as mentioned above, they are already released in Jams, Vol. XIV, so not included here.

As far as the songs released here, I don't remember 2 out of the 3. I have no memory doing the Dorian Vamp & Space Witch. I just found it in my August folder. Dorian Vamp just seems to be some random piano noodles on the Dorian mode. For Space Witch, I seem to have used the Cardinal vst. I was getting into modular very heavily during these months. I couldn't figure out how to get pre-sequenced stuff to work inside ableton as a normal timeline. So it seems I had just re-sampled it on another track. I still don't know how a sequenced vst works inside of ableton without midi notes on the piano roll.

The 3rd tiny song was of course done during Hugo's Patreon stream. Again I don't remember too clearly what the workshop was on. But I have some memories. I remember Hugo had said something about the organ on the song. But I don't remember what he said.

Looking back at the photos (included in Bonus Content), I see that I cooked quite a lot this month, Lots of pork, lots of leafy vegetables. I certainly don't remember each and every dish, but here's what I remember looking at the photos- Burger & french fries, Glass noodles & i guess some kinda pork curry, rice and pre-marinated chicken curry (wasn't that good), white paste pasta & fried pak choi (the other photo is of the white paste), sweet corn & paneer curry, rice and i guess some meat curry, prawn & pumpkin fried with buns & ham, pork & leafy veggies with rice. Also I had cake (from a shop) on Hugo's birthday.

You can also see I got a new mic. It's my first condenser mic. Its an AKG P420 something mic. It's pretty sensitive comapred to my other dynamic mics.I think I like it & its good. I don't have much else to compare it to, but I'm happy with it. Oh also I got it because it was on sale. I had my eyes on the AKG 220 mic actually. 420 has more features than the 220. And on that particular day, when I woke up, i had a notification on amazon that some music gear was on sale, and I checked it and saw the 420 on sale, cheaper than even the 220. I wasn;t 100% sure that it wouldn't be a scam. I did check if the sellers etc seemed legit and it felt so. But I was still anxious until it arrived and I opened it. Also I purchased an english translation of Muna Madan by Laxmi Prasad Devkota, which is probably the most famous work of Nepali literature. It was for inspiration for the Ben-Hugo song challenge. I had read the original in nepali when I was a kid in school and had loved it. When I got this version, I started reading, and it was literally up-put-down-able. I legit read it in one long sitting overnight of probably 5 or 6 hours. And I was in tears towards. I won't spoil it for you in case, you want to read it yourself. But I will just say it is one of the most beautiful pieces of literature ever (in any language). You must read it.

Anyways, I guess that's about it for the August dump. As said before I don't remember much to write more. But the December Dump will come soon.
